Montco Man, Charter School Dean Charged With Statutory Rape

The Montgomery County man and dean of a local charter school allegedly had sex with a 14-year-old female student, authorities said.

ELKINS PARK, PA — A Montgomery County man and dean of a charter school in Philadelphia has been charged with statutory rape after allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old female student, according to authorities.

The incident comes just days after the school, Mastery Charter School, was shaken by 16-year-old student Caleer Miller's tragic shooting death.

CBS Philadelphia reports Harrison allegedly took a 14-year-old female student to a hotel in Tinicum Township where the alleged assault happened in April 2017.

Harrison faces counts of felony statutory sexual assault, felony indecent assault of a person under 16 years old, felony sexual assault, felony sexual contact with a student, felony corruption of minors, and indecent assault of a person less than 16 year old, according to court records.

Mastery Charter has reportedly terminated Harrison upon learning of the allegations last week.

Harrison is being held in the Delaware County correctional facility after failing to post 10 percent of $100,000 bail at his Oct. 25 preliminary arraignment.

A preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 6.
