Montco Man Had More Than 2,000 Child Porn Images On Computer: DA

A Montgomery County man has been charged with distributing and possessing child pornography after more than 2,000 inappropriate images were discovered on his computer, according to the District Attorney's office.

James Edward Mugford III, 26, of Huntingdon Valley, was first investigated by an undercover Abington police officer on January 5, the DA said.

Mugford's computer was found to be specifically configured to anonymously share files, police noted.

When undercover detectives connected to Mugford's computer, they retrieved 175 images of child pornography, according to the DA.

When a search warrant was executed at Mugford's residence, a total of 2,019 images and three videos of child pornography were discovered, the DA said.

Mugford waived his preliminary hearing and was released on $20,000 bail.
