Montco Man Imprisoned For Child Porn Possession

A Montco man is headed to prison after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography.

ABINGTON, PA — An Abington man accused of possessing child pornography has pleaded guilty to the charges filed against him, according to court documents, and is headed to prison.

Russell Gellman, 43, was arrested last September and charged with distribution and possession, but he was only convicted on the possession charge. He will spend the next three to 23 months behind bars, documents state.

Gellman was busted after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children submitted a tip regarding an image of a 10-year-old girl being sexually molested, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office.

An investigation connected the email address connected to the image to Gellman, authorities said.

Police served a search warrant on May 26, 2016 at Gellman's home, which he shared with his wife. His Apple iPad was seized and the images were discovered.

According to a police report, Gellman admitted that the images were of a girl "probably" younger than 12 and "definitely" younger than 18. Gellman was arrested and charged on September 7.

Gellman will also complete five years of probation as part of his sentence, according to court documents.
