Montco School Declared Safe After Alleged Bomb Threat

A Souderton Area School District middle school that was evacuated Thursday afternoon due a reported bomb threat has been declared safe by police as of 4:05 p.m.
Students at Indian Crest Middle School in Franconia were evacuated around 1 p.m., according to information from the school.
An announcement on the school district’s website said students were dismissed early and the building was deemed safe at 4:05 p.m. Students who need to return to the school to pick up any items can come until 5 p.m.

School will resume as normal Friday, according to the district.
A police department spokeswoman told the Philadelphia Inquirer a note found near the school prompted the evacuation.

In a statement on its website, the school district said the evacuation was taken as a precaution.
