Montgomery County's Final Hazardous Waste Recycling Event Coming Up
Find out what you can and can't recycle at the county's final event of the year.

LOWER MERION, PA -- The last hazardous waste recycling event of the year in Montgomery County will take place at the Lower Merion Transfer Station on October 16.
The event will take place at the Penn Valley location on 1300 North Woodbine Avenue, the county announced. It will last from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day, rain or shine.
Toxic and flammable items will be collected and properly disposed or recycled.

Acceptable items include gasoline, oil, kerosene, turpentine, paint thinner, oil paint, stains, varnish, pool chemicals, herbicides, pesticides, antifreeze, caustic cleaners and solvents, mercury, thermometers, flares, fire extinguishers, lead acid batteries, rechargeable batteries, fluorescent tube light bulbs, CFL bulbs, mini propane canisters, and electric oil filled heaters.

- Tires
- Latex or Water-Based Paint is not hazardous and can be placed in the trash once it is dry
- Alkaline Household Batteries are not hazardous and should be thrown in the trash
- Prescription Medications
