During periods of work, there may be intermittent lane closures on West Moreland Avenue between Broad and Flamingo.

Access to the road will still be available for residents, emergency services, public works, and deliveries.

This work will be weather-dependent and is subject to change.

Aqua has informed the Borough that this work could be delayed again should be bridge project continue to be delayed.

Montgomery County had stated that construction of the bridge replacement project was supposed to start this year, Aqua officials said.

Aqua said the county delayed the project to 2024, which meant that Aqua also had to delay the water main relocation.

Borough Manager Diane Hegele said at the recent Hatboro Borough Council meeting that there is still a hold-up as well with PECO doing some utility work.

She has also talked with county officials about pedestrian access.

At a council meeting in mid-March, Montgomery County officials told the council that the deteriorating Moreland Avenue Bridge needed to be replaced. Officials said the span was declared "structurally defective" and has a rating of 4 with zero being the lowest.

The project is expected to take a year.

Borough officials have worried about how construction would impact its pool season next summer with the nearby Hatboro Memorial Pool but have been told by county officials that residents should still have pool access.
