NBC 10 Meteorologist Brittney Shipp Visits Keith Valley

Shipp talks STEAM careers with middle school students

On January 10, 2019, NBC 10 Meteorologist Brittney Shipp presented to Keith Valley (KV) Middle School’s Girls STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) Program. Shipp, a member of NBC10’s First Alert Weather Team and Emmy-nominated journalist, spoke with the middle school students about careers in science-related fields.

“I’ve always been good at math and science, but didn’t really know what to do with it,” Shipp said. She mentioned that one of the reasons she enjoys speaking to students about her experiences is because she can expose them to career opportunities and provide encouragement.

KV students Julieann Gosciniak and Nadia Kushner enjoyed Shipp’s presentation. Kushner stated that she felt inspired by the Shipp’s words.
