HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —The new Keith Valley Middle School remains on target for its opening date next fall.

The Hatboro-Horsham School Board heard at its December work session a project update from Jamie Lynch, construction manager of CHA Engineering about the new middle school.

Lynch said the project remains on schedule and on budget for the building to open in the fall.

Lynch’s report highlighted "significant progress" in November, including the building’s full enclosure.

Key areas like the classrooms, building commons, and exterior are also progressing, Lynch said.

School Board Vice President David Brown also presented several action items related to the project that were unanimously approved by the board.

They included:

  • Purchases for the new KVMS and District Administrative Office, including a security camera system, high-density mobile storage units, and a revised quote for the auditorium projector.
  • Three allowance adjustments and one change order for the KVMS project.

The new school will replace the aging Keith Valley Middle School and is planned to open for the 2025-2026 school year.

After years of studies, a new school was considered the best of several options when the school board voted on the project late last year.

The school district hired Schradergroup Architects to design the building, and D’Huy Engineering to provide construction management services.

Other facilities approvals included:

  • HVAC equipment replacements for Blair Mill Elementary and Simmons Elementary.
  • Revised change order for the asphalt replacement project at HHHS.
  • Capital project to replace outdoor air system units at Hallowell Elementary.
  • Proposal from KC Sign & Awnings to purchase a replacement monument and digital sign for the Hatboro-Horsham High School.
