New Police Officer Joins Hatboro Force
Donnell Wessels was sworn in as a new police officer at a Hatboro Borough Council meeting earlier this month.

HATBORO, PA —The Hatboro Borough Police Department has added a new officer to its force.
Donnell Wessels was sworn in at the Borough Council's meeting earlier this month before members of his family.
Police Chief James Gardner said that Wessels was the top candidate on the borough's civil service list. The hiring of Wessels was unanimously approved by the council at the Dec. 4 meeting.

Wessels, who hails from Abington Township, is a graduate of Abington High School. He obtained a bachelor's degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, the chief said.
Wessels has served as a youth basketball coach and has worked in commercial loss prevention.

He just graduated from the Montgomery County Community College.
Wessels was sworn in by District Justice Paul Leo, who is retiring at the end of the year.
Leo told the audience that he appreciated his time of service.
