New Sheriff In Town: Horsham's Kilkenny Takes The Reins
The U.S. Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel and paratrooper is taking over in Montgomery County.

JENKINTOWN, PA - Sean P. Kilkenny was sworn in as Montgomery County Sheriff, during a ceremony for newly elected public officials on Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Keswick Theatre in Jenkintown, according to a county statement.
“It is an honor and privilege to serve the citizens of Montgomery County,” Kilkenny said in the statement. “I look forward to continuing to have our sheriff’s office to be the best in the Commonwealth.”
Sheriff Sean Kilkenny is the son of a police officer, and a U.S. Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel and paratrooper currently assigned to the 153rd LOD in Horsham.

He served overseas in Iraq, Kosovo, Bosnia and South Korea, and later as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Army, who tried homicide, rape and serious crimes for over 20 years.
Kilkenny is one of the top municipal and land use attorneys in Montgomery County. He formerly served as Jenkintown Borough Council President, and is currently a trustee of Montgomery County Community College.

Kilkenny received his undergraduate degree from Villanova University. He holds a master of public administration from the University of South Carolina and a law degree from Temple University.
He resides in Jenkintown with his wife Betsy and his daughters Madeline and Gabrilelle.
Kilkenny was elected last November over Russell Bono.
