New Waterslide Coming For Hatboro Memorial Pool

HATBORO, PA — Upgrades to the Hatboro Memorial Pool are among three projects that are getting a boost from state grants secured by State Rep. Nancy Guenst.

Borough officials said Hatboro has been awarded three grants totaling $943,877 from the Commonwealth Financing Authority for public safety, equipment upgrades, and recreation improvements.

The state grants are as follows:

• $379,990 for Modular Vehicle Barrier Systems
• $229,955 for a new Waterslide at the Hatboro Memorial Pool
• $333,932 for a new street sweeper

The grants were secured by State Rep. Nancy Guenst and State Sen. Maria Collett to help improve the quality of life across the 152nd House District, the 12th Senatorial District, and the entire Montgomery County.

The LSA program distributes gaming revenues through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and the Commonwealth Financing Authority for projects in the public interest.

No local match was required for the award.

Modular Vehicle Barrier Systems

The modular vehicle barrier systems will allow for safer, more efficient closures of roads for events within the borough.

Hatboro hosts numerous public events each year in partnership with local businesses, including a car show, parades, and children’s markets that draw residents and visitors onto York Road and adjoining streets.

Those events require hard vehicle closures. Until now, the borough has lacked enough certified equipment of its own and has relied on labor-intensive posts and borrowed systems, including barriers loaned from surrounding municipalities.

The award funds the Hatboro Police Department’s application to buy certified, rapidly deployable barriers for community events in the York Road Town Center District and throughout the borough.

Hatboro Memorial Pool Slide

The new Memorial Pool slide will continue the borough’s mission to offer safe, family friendly recreation to residents and members of neighboring communities.

Each summer, the pool serves thousands of attendees from countless municipalities within Montgomery County, Bucks County, Philadelphia County, and beyond.

With the grant, the borough will be able to replace the existing slide structure to ensure future generations continue to enjoy this beloved facility.

New Street Sweeper

The purchase of a new street sweeper is vital in maintaining the Borough’s streets and stormwater infrastructure as well as reducing pollutants from the Commonwealth’s waterways.

The street sweeper will replace the borough’s existing equipment while providing additional capabilities such as clearing stormwater inlets.

This piece of equipment is invaluable to the borough’s mission of keeping streets, infrastructure, and community clean for residents and wildlife.
