'Old Time' Baseball Returning To Horsham

No gloves. No helmets. And...underhand pitching?

That old game you like is going to come back in style.

“Old time” baseball is returning to Horsham in September.

The Mid-Atlantic Vintage Base Ball League plays “real” baseball as it was defined in 1864, before gloves were used by players.

Other changes include underhand pitching, no batting helmet, no catcher’s mask, and other stylistic changes.

The game between the Rising Sun Base Ball Club from Baltimore and the Philadelphia Athletic Base Ball Club will take place on Saturday, September 19 at the Penrose Strawbridge House in Horsham.

The game will take place from noon until 3 p.m.
