HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —For nearly a quarter of a century, Kenneth Gehlhaus has made his mark serving township parks.
Township officials honored that 24 years of service with a proclamation for Gehlhaus at the recent Horsham Township Council meeting.
Gehlhaus gave his "devoted service" to Horsham Township and its residents as a member of the Park and Recreation Board and was recognized in his retirement.

Township officials said Gehlhaus wasn't just a figure at board meetings; he was also a leader in the community.
You could find him volunteering for the Easter Egg Hunt, Horsham Day, the Freezer 5k, and other township-run events.

For his work on the Horsham Park and Recreation Board, which he started in 2000, Gehlhausserved as vice president for three years and president for one year.
"His time spent in Horsham has been time well spent," officials said. "Ken Gehlhaus truly exemplifies the noble endeavor to leave a place better than when found, and in doing so, inspires all of us to do the same."
