PECO Begins Equipment Upgrades In Hatboro, Horsham

Hatboro officials said the work got underway over the past few weeks and may last through October 2025.

HATBORO / HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —PECO has launched its project to upgrade and install new equipment in three area communities, including the borough.

Hatboro officials said work has begun in select areas over the last few weeks and will continue through the fall and winter in the borough, Horsham Township, and Upper Moreland Township.

As part of the upgrades, PECO is installing new poles and tree-resistant aerial wires to provide their customers with safe and reliable service.

PECO will also be installing advanced devices that can stop the flow of electricity on the line if problems occur and automatically restore electricity to properties once issues are resolved.

Under this project, Asplundh will be performing vegetation work to reduce the number of outages caused by trees throughout the area.

Once vegetation work is complete, PECO will begin the installation of new equipment in April with the final completion scheduled for October 2025.

While work is taking place, crews may need to temporarily interrupt electric service.
