HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —The PA Lifestyle Campus is getting lit. Literally.

Pedestrian lamps are being installed in the PA Lifestyle Campus with township officials saying that the lights will bring an architectural organic look into a suburban environment while the LED lights manage glare while providing visibility to those who live and work around the campus.

The 86 new pedestrian lamps are part of $1 million in lighting upgrades coming to the business park.

Preparation work for the installation of the lights began in January around a section of Dresher Road, Gibraltar Road, Prudential Road, and a section of Witmer Road.

"The idea behind the lighting is to sustain the PA Lifestyle Campus )and the 555 Flats apartment complex) and also to make the campus come alive and provide safety after sundown for employees and residents," township officials said.

The new lighting will provide walkability after sundown, atmosphere, safety, and security to pedestrians.

The lamps are being installed on Prudential Road and installation will continue through the week. Once all the lamps are installed, Horsham Township officials said they will have to wait for PECO to energize them.

Last August, Horsham Township Council approved awarding a $1,061,651 bid to Carr and Duff to install the lights.
