Pennypack Community Center Upgrades Sought In Hatboro

HATBORO, PA —The Pennypack Community Center may be getting some upgrades.

The former school was purchased to serve as the temporary borough hall due to the HVAC replacement at Loller Academy and since then, the Spring Avenue facility has transformed into a community center hosting events and groups.

The Hatboro Borough Council, at its Oct. 28 meeting, approved the following voting items:

  • Approved the Enterprise Fire Company Expenditure List for September for $7,641.01.
  • Authorized the application to the PECO Green Region Grant for the Pennypack LED Lighting Project.
  • Authorized the application to the Local Share Account Grant for the Pennypack HVAC Improvement Project.
  • Amended fees charged by the Tax Collector for Tax Certifications and Duplicate Bills.
  • Approved the new maintenance agreement between Hatboro and the Union Library of Hatboro.
  • Established a Bird Town Committee for the Borough of Hatboro.
  • Authorized Solicitor Rebecca Geiser to begin drafting an amendment to the Historic Commission Ordinance to add a provision for alternates on the Commission.
  • Authorized the solicitor to begin drafting an amendment to the Amusement Device Ordinance.
  • Approved a resolution supporting the America 250 initiative.
