The pharmacist wanted to end her mother's suffering, police said.

ABINGTON, PA — An Abington pharmacist tried to end her sick mother's life by giving her insulin injections, according to the Abington Police Department.
Donna Horger, 49, faces charges of attempted murder after giving her 74-year-old mother a series of injections at Immaculate Mary Nursing Home in Philadelphia and then at Abington Hospital.
Horger's mother faced a variety of medical conditions and has been hospitalized for months, according to police.

After the initial injection in Philadelphia in August, police said that Horger's mother was found unresponsive, and was revived in Abington.
Horger then injected her mother multiple other times, leading to her mother being found unresponsive and revived each time, police said. This is what led law enforcement to investigate. Horger was ultimately arrested on Sept. 2, police said.
