Phillies Cookies, Phanatic Cake Featured At Hatboro Bakery
Lochel's Bakery is hoping for a long playoff run for the Philadelphia Phillies. The bakery benefited from the Eagles' Super Bowl run.

HATBORO, PA —Lochel's Bakery is caught up in Phillies fever. And it's dishing it out deliciously.
After capitalizing on the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl run last year, the bakery is hoping the Phillies' Hunt for Red October will have an extended run beyond the Wild Card round.
The business is hoping to hit a home run with its Phan Phavorites of Phanatic donuts and loaf cakes, jersey cakes like one for Bryce Harper, glitter cups, and even "Dancing On My Own" cookies, based on the Phillies' playoff theme song last year. See video below.

There's even a cupcake named after Manager Rob Thomson. It's like the Philadelphia favorite Kandy Cake, a vanilla cupcake cake filled with chocolate fudge, topped with peanut butter buttercream, and then drizzled with peanut butter and chocolate. The bakery added a maple leaf to pay tribute to Thomson being from Canada and fall's arrival.
Co-owner Kathleen Lochel loves her Philadelphia sports teams and the bakery on York Road in the borough's business district changes its lineup for each sports season.

But with the Phillies in the playoffs, the bakery is balancing its creations between the Phillies and the undefeated Eagles.
Lochel and her husband have owned the bakery since 2005. She said her husband is a third-generation owner with the bakery opening in the 1940s.
