Police Seek Suspects In Hatboro Attempted Burglary

The Hatboro Police Department said surveillance cameras show two people trying to break into a South York Road business Thursday.

HATBORO, PA —The Hatboro Police Department is seeking the identities of two people who tried to break into a closed South York Road business early Thursday morning.

Hatboro Police Chief James Gardner said that the attempted burglary happened at 4:34 a.m. Thursday at the closed business on the first block of South York Road. Police did not name the business.

The chief said that surveillance cameras in the vicinity showed two individuals wearing backpacks attempting to gain entrance via a rear door.

Police arrested and charged a 42-year-old former Hatboro resident with criminal trespass after he was found inside a home in the 100 block of West Lehman Avenue at 9:23 a.m. Thursday.

He had been recently evicted from it by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, police said.

The man was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Jay S. Friedenberg of Willow Grove. Bail was set at $2,500 unsecured. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for 11 a.m., March 17, before Magisterial District Judge Paul N. Leo in Hatboro.
