Registration Open for 3rd Annual ETC Golf Outing

A first-time offering of electronic registration is a hole-in-one for golfers and sponsors alike looking to tee off as part of the third annual Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation Golf Outing.

Set for July 21 at Commonwealth National Golf Club in Horsham Township, the outing is expected to raise $80,000 for 2015 scholarships and educational programming, according to organizer Forrestine Coombs, the mother of Edward Coombs, a 2010 Hatboro-Horsham High School graduate, Marist College honor student and standout athlete who was tragically killed in an August 2011 car crash.

Most recently, the foundation last week presented $19,000 in scholarships to eight Hatboro-Horsham High School seniors. Scholarship winners are as follows:

“Thank you to our scholarship committee for putting in the time to review the applications and correspond with the students,” Mrs. Coombs said.

Since its inception in the fall of 2011, the foundation has raised more than $80,000 that it has put back into the community. In addition to granting more than 50 scholarships, the foundation has sent students to leadership conferences. The nonprofit organization has also visited 10 high schools to engage with youth about its mission to encourage responsible decision-making.

The popular foursome golf outing, which features lunch, dinner and open bar, is expected to sell out all 127 spots, Mrs. Coombs states. Non-golfers can purchase dinner-only tickets for $100.

In addition to golfers, the nonprofit organization is seeking contributors for sponsorships ranging from $300 to $5,000. All donors will be featured in the event program. Click here to learn more about sponsorship opportunities and the various benefits.
