Hatboro Police said they've recently received reports about people impersonating borough police officers and staff. Police are asking residents to stay safe and vigilant.
Police said the scammers may call residents claiming to be from the Hatboro Police Department, and attempt to deceive them into divulging sensitive information or sending money.

Anyone who receives a call should contact the Hatboro Police Department directly to confirm the authenticity of the call by reaching out to police at 215-675-2832.'
"Remember, it is essential to verify the identity of the caller before providing any personal information or taking any action," police said. "Legitimate law enforcement officers will never ask for sensitive information or demand payment over the phone."
