Township officials are offering some tips for students:

  • Drivers should be extra cautious while driving through our neighborhoods.
  • With school out, more children will be playing outside. Watch carefully for kids on bikes, scooters, or playing games near the streets.
  • Stay hydrated and protect yourself from the summer heat. Drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen, and seek shade during the hottest parts of the day.
  • If you’re hitting the pool or heading to the beach, remember to swim with caution and supervise children at all times — practice water safety by following all lifeguard instructions.
  • Don’t forget our furry friends. As temperatures rise, keeping our pets cool and hydrated is incredibly important. Provide them with plenty of fresh water and never leave them in a parked car, as it can quickly become dangerously hot.
