Sentencing For Horsham Woman Who Stole 7000 Pills, Shot Herself: Report

The suspect handed the pharmacist a note reading: "Give me all your narcotics or I will shoot. Don't do anything crazy."

An ex-Horsham woman who stole over 7,000 pills and accidentally shot herself in the leg during the robbery has been sentenced to five to 10 years in state prison, according to a report in The Intelligencer.

Tanitra Renee T. Carpenter, 35, wore a mask and had a silver handgun when she handed a note over the counter at a Ride Aid on Bethlehem Pike in Upper Dublin just before 5 a.m. on October 20, per the report. The note read, “Give me all your narcotics or I will shoot. Don’t do anything crazy,” according to the report.

Her haul included 7,218 pills in 89 narcotic stock bottles, per the report, with a value of $22,732. She shot herself accidentally at some point after the robbery.

She was later arrested at an extended stay hotel in Horsham where she was living with her husband, the report states.
