UPDATE: Armed Local Official Shoots Suspected Bank Robber In Hatboro
The suspect allegedly robbed the TD Bank and the local official, who was armed, chased after him and eventually shot him, reports say.

A town official shot a suspected bank robber Wednesday morning in Hatboro, according to multiple media reports.
The suspect allegedly robbed the TD Bank on 256 York Road and the local official, who was armed, chased after him and eventually shot him, Action News said.
The Philadelphia Inquirer identified the official involved as Hatboro Councilman George Forgeng.

The Hatboro Police Department did not confirm the work of any vigilantes, but did say that they responded to a hold-up alarm at the bank at 10:18 a.m.
They confirmed the call was a robbery, that the suspect was taken into custody, and that there are no other suspects at large at this time.

The suspect was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital. It is unknown if the suspect was armed.
