Simmons Elementary Holds Playground Grand Opening

Playground Ribbon Cutting, Open for Business!

A ribbon cutting event to mark the grand opening of Hatboro-Horsham School District’s Simmons Elementary School Playground was held August 31, 2017. For the past 2 years, the Simmons community and the Home & School Association have worked hard to raise over $60,000 for new playground equipment, stencils for the blacktop and playground games.

The entire Simmons community was invited to the event and students waited patiently for the ribbon to be cut-their cue that the playground was “open for business!”

Principal Amy Orlando delivered a brief message of thanks to the Home and School Association and others who contributed to the project’s success.

Students, along with parents and staff, enjoyed activity stations set-up throughout the play area. Following playtime, students filed into the school to meet their teachers and visit classrooms.
