State Rep. Todd Stephens Met with Student Leadership Team
State Representative Todd Stephens met with a fifth grade student leadership team in Hatboro-Horsham School District.

HORSHAM – State Representative Todd Stephens’ goal is to build awareness and better understanding of local government among children. To spread his insights about local government, Stephens ate lunch with Crooked Billet-Hallowell Learning Community’s Student Leadership Team on Oct. 7 from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
The Student Leadership Team is comprised of 12 fifth graders who school officials invited to apply to serve on the team for a half-year term. During the lunch, students learned the importance of civic engagement, how local government leaders like Stephens obtained their position and what Stephens enjoys about his role.
The goal of the meeting was to find ways to spread local government with kids. After the Student Leadership Team applies what they learn and brainstorm ideas, a public service announcement will be created by the students.
