Surplus Found After Audit Of Hatboro-Horsham Schools

The Hatboro-Horsham School Board received a report on the financial outcome of the 2024-2025 school year.

HATBORO / HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The Hatboro-Horsham School District's 2024-2025 financial audit results showed a surplus.

Bill Stone, the district's finance director, presented audit results to the Hatboro-Horsham School Board for the 2024-2025 school year after reviewing revenue and expenditures.

That audit resulted in an ending surplus of around $900,000, Stone said.

Stone said the surplus was primarily due to revenue that was more than expected. He recommended a year-end fund transfer to the Capital Reserve Fund of $1.5 million.

Stone also reviewed the commitments and assignments of ending General Fund balance. He also reviewed the results of operations for the other district funds under management.

Stone also reviewed the long-term financial projection, discussing the assumptions used to develop the projection and the anticipated outcomes based on those assumptions.

The school board met on Jan. 12 for a work session and committee meeting, and its legislative action meeting on Jan. 27.

The board reviewed construction and capital project updates, received a presentation on the 2024-2025 financial audit and the long-term financial projection, reviewed and approved policy revisions and new policies, and approved the 2026-2027 school calendar.
