Township Works To Keep Horsham Toys R Us Open

The company had previously announced that the Horsham Toys R Us location would close, but the township says that is no longer the case.

HORSHAM, PA — It looks like the Horsham Township Toys R Us may remain open, after all.

The company had previously announced last week that the Horsham Toys R Us location would close, along with more than 180 stores nationwide. It was supposed to be part of a mass closure due to declining sales and increased competition from giants like Walmart and Amazon.

But Horsham Township says that is no longer the case.

"Our Toys R Us/Babies R Us will not be closing as reported," the township said in a Facebook post on Monday. "We would like to thank Goodman Properties for working with Toys R Us to keep our store open. Please shop local whenever you can and support local businesses."

One other local store, in Exton, was also slated to close. All told, six other Pennsylvania stores were on the list to be shut down.
