Traffic Signal Upgrade Coming Near Hatboro-Horsham High School
At a recent meeting, the Horsham Township Council approved a bid to modernize the traffic signal on Horsham Road.
HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — Traffic signal upgrades are coming near the entrance at Hatboro-Horsham High School.
At its Jan. 14 meeting, the Horsham Township Council approved a $708,769 bid that will modernize the traffic signal at Horsham Road and Tournament Drive at the entrance to the high school.
Township officials approved the lowest of six bids from T. Schiefer Contractor. The highest bid was $200,000 more.

The council also approved getting bids for the construction of 40 ADA ramps — which cost an average of $5,000 — along township roads.
While the township is upgrading a traffic signal, it won't be adding a stop sign at Maple and Myrtle avenues based on a resident's request.

Officials explained that a traffic study would first be needed before a stop sign could be added to see if it was warranted.
Township manager Bill Walker said options would be explored to ease traffic concerns on those streets.
