TruMark Financial ® Credit Union’s eighth annual Kiss-a-Pig

More than $30,000 raised for local schools to educate students about personal finance

A pot-bellied pig named Raines received dozens of kisses from local business and community leaders, educators, and TruMark Financial employees on Wednesday, October 3 during TruMark Financial‘s eighth annual Kiss-a-Pig financial literacy fundraiser held at Abington Art Center, Jenkintown, Pa. 101.1 More FM radio personality Bill Tafrow was the event emcee and lead-off pig kisser. Bill Anderson, general assignment reporter, Fox29 News was a special guest, kissed the pig twice, and shared some tips with attendees about the importance of saving money from an early age.

The fundraiser is a component of TruMark Financial's initiative, Building Financial Futures. Funds raised at this event will allow area schools to provide students with the tools needed to learn the basics of personal finance. This information will help them to make informed financial decisions to guide them to a future of financial success.

To date, TruMark Financial has donated more than $300,000 to area schools in need of personal finance resources. The grants have been used to purchase resources such as calculators, computer software, and textbooks to help teach the value of saving and the importance of managing money responsibly. John McDonald of KSM Architects,the top individual fundraiser for 2018, kissed Raines the pig at the eighth annual TruMark Financial Kiss-a-Pig financial literacy fundraiser held at Abington Art Centeron Oct. 3. McDonald raised more than $2,000. In total, more than $30,000 was raised to support financial literacy programs in area schools.

David Miller kissed Raines the pig on behalf of Bensalem High School at the eighth annual TruMark Financial Kiss-a-Pig financial literacy fundraiser held at Abington Art Centeron Oct. 3. The school was awarded a “Kappy” trophy for raising more than $2,500, the most of any participating school this year.
