HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —Nick Fox met Nicole Hobbs in 10th grade. At the time, he was dating her friend Melanie.

This July, the Horsham Township couple will be married for 19 years.

Patch conducted an informal survey for Valentine's Day about how couples met and Fox and Hobbs shared their story.

Fox said he saw Nicole "constantly" through friend gatherings and parties. He split with Melanie after deciding to attend a party with his friend Sherri. At that time, Fox said, he didn't pay Nicole much mind.

But he heard it through the grapevine.

Nicole mentioned to friends that one day she was going to marry Fox.

"She wouldn't stop talking about me for months," he said.

But then the stars began to align.

Fox said the two began speaking and getting acquainted after "an old buddy took her to prom and dropped by beforehand to say hi."

A couple of months later, Fox said the two started hanging out, going to the Regal Cinema for movies and a few dinners on what he could afford on his paper route budget.

A few months later, Fox said he asked Nicole to be his girlfriend. And, as they say, the rest is history.

Fox and Hobbs offer advice for those seeking true love:

"Be true and genuine. Be accepting. Try to understand their mind, ways, and thought. Support them and accept when they support you. Continue to grow as an individual but help them if need be. Make time and happy moments, regardless if it's a night out to dinner, visiting family, or watching a movie at home with hot wings and popcorn."
