Virtual 5K Honors Hatboro-Horsham Graduate's Legacy

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA —Edward Taylor Coombs unexpectedly died in 2011 at the age of 19. But his legacy lives on.

Starting Sunday and running until the end of the month, a virtual fundraiser will pay tribute to the 2010 Hatboro-Horsham High School graduate and help benefit the next generation of student leaders.

Founded in 2011, The ETC Foundation furthers the legacy of its namesake by supporting student leaders through higher education scholarships and programming encouraging responsible decision-making.

In addition to several other charitable events held throughout the year, the Virtual 5K allows for a fun, competitive, and convenient way for participants to give back to the community while breaking a sweat.

Coombs was a standout in lacrosse, track, soccer, and football, as well as in the classroom.

Coombs had finished his freshman year at Marist College in the months before his death. He was chosen as freshman of the year there.

He also served as an intern with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, where he was working at the time of his death.
