HATBORO, PA —Detours for the closure of the Warminster Road Bridge begin Monday and will last for the next six months through October.

Borough officials said that the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will begin replacing the bridge over Pennypack Creek on Monday with the work expected to last until Oct. 31.

PennDOT will also make pedestrian improvements within the area. During the project, the bridge will be closed to motorists between East Mill Road and Surrey Lane.

  • Motor vehicles (Byberry Road, Davisville Road, Terwood Road, and Route 263)
  • Truck traffic (County Line Road and Route 611)

While motorists will be directed to main roads, residents on Mill Road and Fulmor Avenue should expect increased traffic on side streets, officials said.

Motorists unfamiliar with the area or those using GPS may not notice detours or may not be directed away from the project location.

"Unfortunately, the borough cannot control or prevent traffic from coming through these neighborhoods," officials said.

The borough and police department will monitor any issues such as speeding.
