Warminster Road Bridge Renamed For Fallen Soldier

Hatboro officials gathered for a ceremony Saturday to dedicate the bridge to local hero John N. Kulick.

HATBORO, PA —The Warminster Road Bridge is now named the John N. Kulick Memorial Bridge.

The bridge was dedicated to the fallen soldier who lived in Hatboro during a ceremony on Saturday arranged by State Rep. Nancy Guent, a war veteran herself.

Guenst was joined by State Sen. Maria Collett, the Enterprise Fire Company, Kulick's family and friends, and borough residents.

Kulick enlisted in the PA Army National Guard Alpha Company of the 1st Battalion – 111th Infantry regiment (Mechanized), where he achieved specialist rank.

He was deployed to Iraq in 2004 and was killed in action in Bayji, Iraq on Aug. 9, 2005, when a mine exploded while in their Humvee and enemy forces attacked with small-arms fire.

Born Nov. 17, 1969, John Kulick dedicated his life to serving our local community through the fire service.

Over his lifetime, he was extremely active with local fire companies, including the Enterprise Fire Company of Hatboro.

"John Kulick dedicated his life to serving others and we as a community are forever grateful," borough officials said. "The John N. Kulick Memorial Bridge will help ensure John's legacy lives on within our community."
