West Monument Avenue Bridge Inspection Planned For Friday

Hatboro Borough officials said the routine inspection on the bridge is expected to take place on Friday morning.

HATBORO, PA — The West Monument Avenue Bridge will be closed for a short time on Friday morning for a routine inspection, borough officials said.

On Friday, the borough will close the West Monument Avenue Bridge from 6:45 a.m. to about 8 a.m. for another routine bridge inspection.

The inspections have been taking place since Montgomery County's closure of the West Moreland Avenue Bridge and will continue to take place every few weeks throughout the project's duration,officials said.

Officials said they attempted to schedule the inspection at a less busy time of day; however, this was the only time that personnel and the borough engineer were available to conduct the inspection.

In order to ensure the safety of borough staff and Engineers, the borough has decided to close the bridge to traffic during the inspection.

If needed, emergency personnel will be granted access to the bridge during the closure period.

"We are asking motorists to make note of the closure and again reminding everyone when traveling on surrounding streets in this area to please remember to obey all traffic rules and regulations," officials said.
