When I Grow Up K-12 Career Expo 2018

The Hatboro-Horsham School District invites the community to attend When I Grow Up (WIGU) K-12 Career Expo. The purpose of the WIGU Career Expo is to open young minds by showcasing real-life work experiences. The event takes place Saturday, April 14, 2018, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. It will be held at Hallowell Elementary School, 501 W. Moreland Avenue, Horsham, PA 19044

WIGU is not your average career fair. In fact, it’s not a career fair at all. It’s a career exploration experience offered to HHSD families and students to help them think about their futures, explore new ideas, and engage in hands-on activities related to dozens of careers.

Listed below are just some of the fun, engaging, and hands-on activities employers will offer:

Associated Builders and Contractors - Dig till your heart's content, drive massive cranes, load construction materials, pour concrete, and more in a construction simulator plus more hands on activities. Weather permitting Drone flying exhibition.

Charles River Laboratories, Inc. – Toxicology demonstration with microscopes for students

Doylestown Health Teddy Bear Clinic. Kids can listen to Cookie Monster’s heartbeat and inject a teddy bear with “medicine” to help fix its broken leg and more. Bring your own teddy bear to the triage for treatment!

Hatboro Police and Horsham Police - Meet with a Police officer and check out a police car and learn about public safety.

SKIT – Special Kind of Improvisational Theater - Interested in acting, theater, the arts? Come join us for on-side workshops to sharpen your skills!

M &S Centerless Grinding – Learn how to measure tolerances of cylindrical parts that go into your heart, a jetliner and more.

Merck – a team of scientists will be creating amazing STEM activities.

Orthodontics Limited - Interaction presentation about being an orthodontist.

Trefz Mechanical- Tools and pipe fittings for interactive learning.

In addition to more than 50 exhibitors, there will be food, giveaways and raffles.
