A Winter Solstice Celebration: 108 Sun Salutations

Tue Date: Dec 22, 2015 From: 8:00 PM - 9:15 PM

Let’s celebrate the start of the winter with 108 Sun Salutations! The practice of Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskaras) honors the change of seasons and is a great way to set new intentions as well as look back at what you accomplished, learned, and grew into the past season. The dedication to do 108 (4 sets of 27) is quite nourishing as each set can be done in honor of your own personal goals, family and friends, community and those all over the world. The number 108 has long been considered a sacred number signified in 108 Upanishads, pithas (or sacred sites in India), marma points (sacred points in the body), and beads in a traditional mala. Whether you come and do 1 sun salutation or all 108, it is a wonderful space to get clear and start the season off right.
