WIP Sports Radio Spends Day At MaGerk's Horsham
WIP radio hosts held their 2026 Birds Town Hall to discuss the Philadelphia Eagles and NFL free agency all day on Wednesday.

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — "For he's a jolly good fellow, for he's a jolly good fellow..." came the chant from the crowd at MaGerk's.
Those cheers on Wednesday afternoon were for the legendary Philadelphia Eagles announcer Merrill Reese, who was presented with a cake celebrating his 50th anniversary next year in calling the team's games on the radio.
WIP Sports Radio Philadelphia held court at the popular restaurant from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday for its 2026 Birds Town Hall, with all of its radio hosts and special guests.

During the afternoon show, host Spike Eskin, former Eagle Ike Reese, and Jack Fritz talked about the Philadelphia Eagles as day one of the new NFL season and NFL free agency began.
Merrill Reese, though, was the main attraction. He spent about an hour on the radio show as some of his famous calls — including the legendary "Philly Special" during the Super Bowl win against the New England Patriots — were played over the air.

The afternoon show also were joined by mid-afternoon host Joe Giglio and former Eagles star Hugh Douglas for some analysis.
WIP Eagles insider Eliot Shorr-Parks provided updates throughout the show on the latest NFL free agency news and also offered insights on the Eagles' free agency moves and strategy.
WIP's time in Horsham was capped by an hour-ending show that featured host Rob Ellis, Eagles sideline reporter Devan Kaney, and Philadelphia Inquirer sports columnist Mike Sielski, an Upper Dublin Township native.
