Wissahickon Brewing Company Establishing Itself In Horsham

The Wissahickon Brewing Company is making its mark in the township's Maple Glen section after opening its first location outside of Philly.

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — It made its debut just before Christmas, giving residents of Horsham and Upper Dublin townships an establishment that had never ventured out of Philadelphia.

Six months later, the Wissahickon Brewing Company - Maple Glen has established itself as the place to be in the area and a place where township officials recently dropped by.

The Wissahickon Brewing Company is a family-owned and operated brewery in Philadelphia.

Its main brewery and beer garden is located in East Falls, and its new taproom and kitchen are in Olde Kensington.

It replaced the Brick & Barrel Taphouse in the township's Maple Glen section, which was a popular gastropub known for its burgers, pizzas from a brick oven, craft beer, and specials.

It closed permanently in mid-2024 after landlord issues and damage from a tornado that hit the area in 2021.

Township Manager Bill Walker and several council members stopped by to meet and greet restaurant workers.

They touted a great drink menu, and lunch and dinner menus.

They are open Wednesday through Friday from Noon to 10 p.m., Noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and Sunday from Noon to 8 p.m.

They are located on Welsh Road between Norristown Road and Limekiln Pike.
