1. Lycoming Regional Police Department (crimewatchpa.com) β Lycoming Regional Police responded early Tuesday morning to a reported domestic disturbance at an apartment on Broad Street in Jersey Shore, where an argument allegedly escalated to threats involving a loaded handgun. Officers say they recovered the firearm and drug paraphernalia, arrested resident Michael Jarman, and had him arraigned and committed to Lycoming County Prison without bail, pending court proceedings.

2. Pine Creek Rail Trail named Pennsylvania's 2026 Trail of the Year (lockhaven.com) β Jersey Shore sits at the southern end of the Pine Creek Rail Trail, which has just been named Pennsylvania's 2026 Trail of the Year. The 62βmile route from Jersey Shore to Wellsboro Junction draws tens of thousands of users and millions in economic impact, and a new extension into downtown Wellsboro is strengthening the entire corridor's tourism and recreation appeal.

Local roundup: Williamsport cross country teams have excellent races (sungazette.com) β Jersey Shore High School athletes feature prominently in a packed night of local sports, with the Bulldogs competing in cross country, girls tennis, and boys soccer against regional rivals. Williamsport swept Jersey Shore in cross country, Jersey Shore's doubles team earned the lone tennis win against Danville, and the boys soccer team fell to Central Columbia despite a goal from Gabe Welshans.

4. Managing Pennsylvania's Wild Side (statecollege.com) β Jersey Shore currently hosts the Northcentral Region headquarters of the Pennsylvania Game Commission, but operations are expected to move to a new, more centralized facility near Bellefonte by 2028. Regional director Mark Ternent explains how the move will expand public education and access while his staff continues managing vast game lands, elk and bear populations, and youth hunting outreach across northcentral Pennsylvania.
