Sen. James Malone's Manheim event requires no registration, while Rep. Tom Jones' Mount Joy expo asks residents 50 and older to sign up online. Both gatherings focus on services, wellness, and practical support for older adults.
2. Millersville University to host daylong democracy conference to highlight importance of elections, civic work (lancasteronline.com) — Millersville University is convening a full-day democracy conference Sept. 15 at the Ware Center in downtown Lancaster, bringing together local officials, educators, and civic groups. Panels will explore elections, civic education, the Constitution, and gerrymandering, with appearances by state and county leaders. 3. Warrington woman wanted on 2022 theft warrant after reportedly escaping Lancaster hospital (centralbucksnews.com) — Police say a Warrington woman wanted in a 2022 stolen vehicle case recently left Lancaster General Hospital before she could be taken into custody and may still be in Lancaster County, possibly around Grant Street in Ephrata. Authorities emphasize she is presumed innocent but are asking anyone in the Lancaster area with information on her whereabouts to contact Warrington Township Police.
