• North Penn committees start talks on school police policies (northpennnow.com) — North Penn School District is moving ahead with plans to create a school police department, including draft policies modeled partly on Lansdale's police procedures and a new cooperation agreement with local departments. For Lansdale families, nothing will change in classrooms this year, but upcoming public meetings will shape how armed school officers eventually work alongside existing borough police and school security staff.
• Motorcycle accident on NE Extension slows Wednesday traffic (wissnow.com) — A Wednesday morning motorcycle crash on the Northeast Extension in Whitpain Township backed up southbound traffic, with only one lane open as crews worked at the scene. VMSC Lansdale joined Towamencin and Upper Gwynedd responders to treat a rider who suffered ankle and road rash injuries but was conscious, a reminder for Lansdale commuters to expect delays and use caution in the area.
• Fall in love with Montco farmers markets this autumn (eatdrinkmontco.com) — Lansdale residents can stock up on seasonal produce and locally made foods at the Lansdale Farmers' Market on Church Road, open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market features more than 30 vendors, with some businesses even sourcing ingredients from fellow stalls, and is part of a wider network of Montgomery County farmers markets worth exploring this fall.
