Lansdale Given $719,840 In Grants To Improve Intersections, Traffic Lights

LANSDALE, PA — The borough of Lansdale has received hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to improve traffic signals at intersections around town.

The $719,840 in funding comes from the state's "Green Light-Go" program that aims to improve safety and reduce congestion on key roadways across the state.

While many towns received at least some funding, Lansdale's covers a higher number of intersections than most, with 12 different lights getting upgrades of modernization.

$132,640 was awarded for traffic signal modernization at the intersection of Broad Street and Vine Street.

Another $587,200 will go to traffic signal upgrades spread across these signalized intersections with Main Street: Franconia Avenue/Valley Forge Road, Cannon Avenue, Wood Street, Broad Street, and Church Rd/Lansdale Avenue.

Intersections with Welsh Road and Oak Boulevard/Oak Lane/Squirrel Lane and North Wales Road will also receive funding.

Cannon Avenue and 7th Street., 7th Street and Maple Avenue, Church Street and Hancock Street, and Church Road and Pennbrook Parkway are among the final beneficiaries.
