Man Shot Self In Groin In Lansdale: PD

The Lansdale Borough Police Department is investing the self-inflicted gunshot incident that took place early on Tuesday morning.

LANSDALE, PA — A 45-year-old man is recovering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the groin early Tuesday morning, police said.

The Lansdale Borough Police Department responded at 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday to the 200 block of Susquehanna Avenue for a report of a gunshot.

Police officers found a 45-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the groin. He was found lying in a grassy area and was treated at the scene.

Police said the man was with another person at the time of the incident.

The injury was accidentally self-inflicted and occurred while the male was attempting to secure a firearm in his pants, police said.

The victim was transported to Grand View Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
