How To Donate To Support The 12 Lansdale Fire Victims

LANSDALE, PA — Local authorities are organizing fundraisers to support the victims of the East Main Street fire this week in Lansdale.

Several residents lost possessions, while others were displaced from their homes entirely. All together, 12 residents were impacted.

Officials said that they are currently collecting gift cards only to numerous local retailers. Walmart, Target, Kohl's, CVS and Walgreens are the most helpful, they said.

To donate, you can drop off gift cards in an envelope marked "Main Street Fire Donation" at Trinity Lutheran Church on 1000 West Main Street.

Donations can be left at the donation box in the lobby or at the front desk.

"Lansdale Borough is grateful for the outpouring of support following the fire on Main Street and as families and individuals begin to navigate the difficult days ahead, our community is once again coming together to help make a tough situation a little easier," the borough shared in a statement. "Unfortunately, we've gotten good at responding to the needs that come after a fire and helping connect residents with the resources they need."

The incident occurred just after noon Wednesday at 53 E. Main Street.

Heavy smoke could be seen coming from the roof and windows, and flames from the windows.

Fire trucks from several surrounding municipalities responded to the scene as a second alarm was struck.

The building was evacuated and roads in the area were shut down for hours.

No injuries have yet been reported.

The cause of the blaze is not known and remains under investigation.

Four of the 12 impacted residents were sheltered overnight in by the Red Cross.
