Lebanon County projects land nearly $2 million in gaming-funded state grants (lebtown.com) — Nearly $2 million in gaming-funded state grants are headed to Lebanon County, supporting fire companies, police, parks, and water and stormwater projects in townships and boroughs across the county. From new playground equipment and recreation upgrades to emergency vehicles and cardiac monitors, these awards mean local safety and quality-of-life improvements without shifting the costs directly onto taxpayers.
   

2. JOC braces for likely Lebanon School District withdrawal from CTC (lebtown.com) — Lebanon residents face a big decision as the school board weighs leaving the Lebanon County Career & Technology Center to build its own vocational program, a move other districts say could delay CTC renovations and raise their operating and debt costs. Public forums are planned this fall before a likely December vote, while Lebanon officials argue in-house programs could better serve more city students.
   

3. Former American House Personal Care Home to close in mid-November (lebtown.com) — A longtime personal care home at 25 S. 9th St. in Lebanon, formerly American House and now Morris Pace West, is slated to close Nov. 17, forcing nearly 60 residents to relocate, many likely outside Lebanon County. The operator cites an aging boiler system and financial strain, while the building owner disputes responsibility as county and state agencies scramble to find new placements.
   

4. North Lebanon Township man accused of threatening to kill school staff (ldnews.com) — Lebanon families should know that police arrested a North Lebanon Township man who allegedly brandished weapons and threatened to kill staff outside Lebanon Intermediate School while students were arriving. No children were hurt, and a Lebanon School District police officer helped de-escalate the situation before the suspect was taken into custody; he now faces multiple serious charges and a court hearing later this month.
   

5. ESCAPE: Search Underway For Missing Lebanon County Prison Inmate (dailyvoice.com) — Authorities are searching for 54-year-old Aundria Devell Scott Sr. of Lebanon, who failed to return to Lebanon County Correctional Facility after leaving his job at Brentwood Industries on Lehman Street during work release. State police say he walked away Thursday afternoon and never came back; anyone with information is urged to contact PSP Jonestown or the state police tip line.
