FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA —Following several successful years that yielded more than $1 million in grants for the township, the Falls Township Supervisors have decided to continue its annual contract with a grant writing company.

Noting that Millennium Strategies, LLC, has helped Falls Township secure $1,077,693.33 in alternative governmental and nongovernmental grant funding since beginning work with the township in 2020, Falls Supervisor Vice Chairperson Erin Mullen said, “They’re doing a good job.”

Supervisors recently voted 3-0 in favor of continuing work with the company.

Supervisors Jeff Dence and Jeff Boraski were at the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors annual educational conference and were not present for the recent supervisors' meeting.

Township Manager Matthew Takita said that as part of the contract —which remains the same as last year —Millennium Strategies will monitor grant opportunities and review possibilities that township officials are interested in.

Currently, the company is working with Falls to obtain funding for road improvements, parks, and the new municipal building, Takita said.

Supervisor John Palmer said the township had previously extended the grant service to the township’s volunteer fire companies.

“That should help them out tremendously,” Palmer said.

Falls began working with Millennium Strategies, LLC in 2020 after neighboring Middletown Township used the company’s services to generate more than $10 million in grant funding over 10 years.

In 2021, Millennium helped Falls obtain a $756,881 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of
Transportation to fund pedestrian safety improvements at various intersections.

An additional $55,029 was secured from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development —Greenways, Trails, and Recreation Program for upgrades to the township’s roller hockey rink.

The upgraded rink opened in summer 2022.

As part of the contracted monthly cost of $1,500 per month, Millennium will create a strategic plan, research available opportunities, and provide monthly reporting. Project-based grant writing services would be provided at an hourly rate.

In addition to Falls and Middletown townships, Millennium Strategies provides grant writing services to more than 90 municipalities, counties, school districts, and nonprofits in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Since its inception in 2005, the company has secured more than $600 million in both governmental and non-governmental grants for its clients.

Millennium has secured funding for a wide range of projects, including arts and culture, economic
development, open space preservation, parks and recreation, environmental planning and restoration, public safety, sustainable energy, historic preservation, as well as transportation-related projects.
