11 Injured In 2-Vehicle Collision In Falls Township
Falls Township Police said one vehicle was carrying 15 people from a homeless shelter that crashed on New Falls Road Friday night.
FALLS TOWNSHIP, PA —Eleven people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on New Falls Road Friday evening that prompted authorities to issue a mass casualty alert for ambulance assistance due to a van carrying 15 people from a homeless shelter, police said.
On Friday, Oct. 27, around 6:52 p.m., the Falls Township Police Department was dispatched to the intersection of Tyburn Road and New Falls Road to investigate the report of an accident with injuries.
Responding officers found a silver 2018 Toyota Highlander, operated by a 53-year-old Levittown woman, stopped in the middle of the intersection with significant front-end damage and multiple airbag deployments.

The other involved vehicle was located off the roadway into the tree line on New Falls Road, police said.
The second vehicle was found to be a 2017 Ford Transit 350 van, operated by a 77-year-old Levittown woman.

The 15-person transit van had sustained significant damage to the driver-side front quarter panel, door, and rear passenger compartment along with multiple airbag deployments.
The preliminary investigation determined that the transport van was in the right lane traveling through the intersection when it was struck by the Toyota which was attempting to complete a left turn onto New Falls Road.
Alcohol, drugs, or a medical emergency are not believed to be factors in causation.
After speaking with hospitals, Falls Township Police believe there will not be any fatalities.
Injuries and Transport
- Medic 168 transported three individuals from the Toyota to Jefferson Bucks Hospital.
- Medic 143 (Bristol) transported the driver and front passenger from the Ford to Lower Bucks Hospital.
- Medic 100 (Yardley) transported two passengers from the Ford to St. Mary.
- Medic 154 transported two passengers from the Ford to Jefferson Bucks Hospital.
- Medic 155 transported a passenger from the Ford to Capital Health Regional.
- Medic 139 transported a passenger from the Ford to Capital Health.
The transport van is owned by the Advocates for the Homeless and Those i Need (AHTN), and all of the passengers in the van live at the homeless shelter at 7 Library Way, Levittown, police said.
