$4.2M Stadium Renovation Adds Press Box At Pennsbury's Falcon Field
Pennsbury High School's Falcons are in Round 1 of the PIAA District 1 Football Playoffs against North Penn High School.

FALLSINGTON, PA —Falcon Field will host a football playoff home game when Pennsbury High School plays against North Penn Friday night.
And while the playoffs may be new for the Falcons, who lost 17 straight games over three seasons, what's also new is a press box at the field.
The press box was installed as part of stadium renovations. It includes multiple levels, allowing for more capacity. It is also climate controlled, said Jennifer Neill, the school district's supervisor of public relations.

She said the current focus of the stadium renovations is the replacement of the bleachers and the press box.
The home-side bleachers are complete, while work on the visitor's side was expected to be completed for the playoffs, Neill said.

The budget for this phase of the stadium renovations is $4.2 million, which was funded by a bond issue, Neill said.
Neill said the driving force for improvements was concerns around surface rust.
That meant the Falcons had to play elsewhere.
All home games, except a recent game against Abington High School, were played at Truman High School because of the renovations.
The proposal for phase 2 of the project includes replacing the grass field with synthetic turf and the installation of a new 8-lane track, field house, concessions, and team rooms. This has not gone out to bid yet, Neill said.
Due to the proposed second phase of the project, Sports Nite and graduation will be held at the Cure Arena in Trenton, she added.
The Falcons won the 2022 SOL National Championship to earn a berth in Round 1 of the PIAA District 1 Football Playoffs.
The Falcons finished 9-1 overall and 7-0 in the SOL league.
