$500K Security Camera Project On Pennsbury Schools Agenda

FALLSINGTON, PA —The Pennsbury School Board is expected to accept a nearly $500,000 bid for its districtwide security camera project at its meeting Thursday night.

On its agenda is a recommendation to approve Access Security Corp., the lowest bidder, for a $499,946 contract to provide and install security cameras for Afton Elementary School, Manor Elementary School and West High School.

The Facilities Committee met on Feb. 2 to review the bids.

On Jan. 26, the bids were received and opened at the school district's administration building. At the bid opening was George Steill, the district's director of facilities; Mike Spadafora, project manager from D'Huy Engineering, Inc. and representatives from the applying vendors.

"We had good interest from bidders on these projects and received competitive bids," Spadafora said in regard to preparing the bid summary for the school board.

Spadafora said Access Security Corp. has performed many successful projects for the Pennsbury School District as recently as 2022.

The school board is also expected to receive updates regarding the Charles Boehm school renovation project.
